Looking for a place like Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston. Good, not too stuffy, not too terribly expensive. Don't like Gaido's in Galveston and don't care for the Crab N in Aransas Pass. Looking for a place that has scallops. Would prefer to stay away from a chain.

We MAY end up going as far out as Rockport to the Boiling Pot, but the birthday girl wants scallops, and I know they don't have any on the menu.

French is right out. Don't care for anything french cooking. Anything that involves a brown butter sauce is nasty. There used to be an absolutely marvelous place in Port A that was demolished but they had a flounder with a lime dill and avacado sauce that I begged the recipe for.

Any ideas?

Real scallops are hard to find. Most of what you get in restaurants is stingray cut into round chunks. There is a place in Port Aransas called Trout Street (I think) that may have real scallops. You like Fishermans Wharf? Yuck!

Try and go to Snoopys below the causeway in Corpus. They usually have pretty fresh seafood at not a bad price. Almost like a fast food place, but not really!!

You really should go down to Rivera Beach by Kingsville to the Kings Inn. Best and freshest seafood served family style in the Coastal Bend.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

The birthday girl likes Fisherman's Wharf... IMO, The Boiling Pot is where its at, but she gets disgusted by the place, so its hard to get her to try it with an open mind.

Stay away from The Big Fisherman in Rockport. Possibly the most overrated place in Rockport. You might try Latitude 2802 in Rockport. It was good the last trip we made to Rockport.

Kings Inn may be the best seafood restaraunt in Texas that nobody has heard of!

You will be amazed by their Tartar sauce!

The BIG ORANGE place on Cotter St. in Port-A has the freshest sea food I've eaten down there in many years. Don't know about the scallops but the Tuna, Amber Jack & Mahi were OUTSTANDING when we have ate there.

Laundry's is good for a chain. Prices aren't great, but service is and I've always liked the food.
