Thinking about going to granbury lake tomorrow and was wondering how the river was looking. Is it muddy, off color, ect... Any info would be appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. I drove over the lake last weekend and it looked great. I'm betting the river is just fine and dandy.

There is an active Golden Algae bloom down on that end. Bounce over to the Whites-Hybrids section to get more detail. I would head toward the dam end of the lake. We fished around DeCordova a couple of weeks ago and the water looked good. Pretty cold though at around 43 degrees. Should have warmed up some since then.

With pk's dam opened and Granburys dam open and the pretty warm water its very hard for me to believe that golden algae is a(serious) problem..I fished Decordova a week ago and water temps were 47 to 48..I have fished the mid lake area twice in the last week and water temps were in the 48 degree range..Finesse jigs and medium diving cranks were all I could catch fish on..

I hope you're right. TPWD report indicates toxicity and shad kill around the 377 bridge, hope it doesn't spread. Granbury is starting to produce some nice fish and it would be a shame to have another big kill. TSA is having a striper tournament out there this weekend so there should be a lot of reports on condition next week.

Had a tournament there a few weeks ago,and yes there was a shad kill, from 377 bridge on up towards the river.I would fish towards the dam.
