That is easy. Purchase and install a blank SD card. A class 6 or 10 SDHC card takes less time to write the snapshot file. Turn the unit on. After it finishes the startup and is functioning, push the menu key twice. Scroll to the right all the way to "Accessories". Scroll down to "Screen Snapshot" and turn it "On".
After that, each time you push the "Mark" button, it will take a snapshot of the screen you have displayed and put a waypoint at the location the boat is when you pushed the button. The waypoint number will have "S" as a prefix. It will also assign a camera icon to that location. As long as the SD card is in the unit with the snapshot, when you put the map curser on the camera icon, you will see a small image of the snapshot on the view.

Additionally, you have a Snapshot View that will show all the snaphots you have on the SD card. The most signigicant thing you can do is read the manual. It actually tells you all of that.
To post an image put the SD card in your computer. Most of the time you have to convert the file type that the unit uses from .png to .jpg. I do that by opening Microsoft Paint and drag/drop the snapshot file to it and save it as a .jpg file. I rename it also.

Wayne I've never used the snapshot feature, will the unit store any snapshots internally or do you have to have a sd card. if yes on the sd card how big a card do you use?

JKen, no, none of the units store snapshots or recordings. The Humminbird units can use up to a 32 GB SD card. Most use a 4 or 8 GB size. A less expensive card than the class 6 or 10 can be used also, it just takes a few seconds more for the unit to write the files to them.
