You can easily make some. Extract isle at HEB.

Just add it to the maize while it is cooling.

Good luck this weekend Nick!

If you're fishing the method your hookbait is more or less a 'Pick-up' than an actual hook-bait. The flavor of maize you choose is more like a confidence builder than a proven technique this is why fake maize and boilies work so well, you will have the confidence the hookbait is still present, and once glugged you can depend on it being there with an absorbanent amount of flavor. Otherwise I'd be more concerned about the method you are using.

Ted - I look forward to hearing your results!! I've had 'flirtations' with Garlic a few times --- and caught on it. My problem is - I hate the smell!! My best success was using Garlic Bread seasoning mix in a Panko based method/pack mix ---- they went crazy for it!! In warmer water - good quality Garlic Oil works well in plain (no other flavours) method/pack mixes.
Good luck thumb

Ted and Brid - I had great success using Nutrabaits Garlic/Peppermint Oil in various base mixes with awesome success.

It was a very subtle flavour that worked best in low levels (3ml per egg) and needed no other additives in the base mix. It also worked at about 2ml per lb of particles.

I say find the two essential oils, mix with almond oil (has no detectable flavour and use at low levels - should work great for those interested in trying.

Erick - I use "plastics" almost exclusively, I rarely them glug or soak them in flavour. I think I still catch my fair share rolfmao

My groundbait/method mix/packbait is the attraction in the swim. Everything that goes into my mixes is there for a reason binders, breakers, attractants and flavours are all very important as is the right combination of the above. As my previous post tried to indicate too much flavour can be a very bad thing leading to fish being in the swim but not eating the bait - saw this a lot with certain flavours (Monster Crab and the above Garlic/Peppermint being the best examples I can recall). If I can smell the bait from more than a few feet away it probably has too much flavour in it and I can generally tell a person what flavours they are using with a good sniff smile .

To me being confident that the carp want to chow down on whatever I am throwing at the is as important as anything else other than location - which is the number on important thing in carp fishing as far as I am concerned. Can't catch them if they are not there, can't catch 30s if the water only has doubles in it, cant catch them during the day if they only feed at night and the lake is closed overnight.

As we all know certain flavours are very attractive to carp in certain lakes - i.e. different flavours work best in different lakes and at different times of year. An example would be at Clear lake in NorCal R&W Clear Concord Grape Jello was the best flavour in the Spring whereas Summer/Fall Red Peach mixed with XXX Hot Plum and Butternut were the better flavours.

Sorry for rambling on but just got into the writing and it all came out LOL
