Going with a guide this weekend to learn how to run on a local lake, lots of underwater surprises. Which handheld Lowrance could I use that I can put my Navionics chip in so I can mark boat lanes, etc. My main console unit is a LMX-27c.

most guides dont allow you to take hand held GPS's with you...make sure you clear it first....Delorme also makes a gps that uses navionics

All three of the new Lowrance Endura models will work with the Navionics Hotmaps and Premium Hotmaps.

Thanks for the information so far.
jsplinter - the guide knows this is the reason and I have it writing with him, told him that not really even wanting to fish, just run the lake. After this, hopefully I won't have to pucker so much running the lake.
