How are they in terms of quality vs price? Reason I ask is becuase the JM and Pro Qualifier reels perform as well as reels twice their price. Are the rods the same?

Not really, but the pq, Johnny Morris, and carbonlites are all great rods for their 2011 prices. Bps has priced their extreme series out of usefulness with the pq and carbonlites at the same price point.

I've got a few of their rods and really like them.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

So true...I have an Extreme 6'6" rod that's my favorite, but those rods have really climbed in price. I guess that I would opt for a carrot stick if I were considering forking out that kind of cash.

I have 2 of the 7 foot MH "cranking stix" 2009 model. I am not a big fan of them. I hardly even use them.

I have quite a few of them and really like some and others are just ok. The Carbonlites and the Johnny Morris Signature Series are both excellent. If you are in no hurry and try to catch them on sale. Makes them even a better deal.

I'd wait for their spring classic sale and get the best deal of the season...

Bought a carbonlite last week to try the new micro guides. Have Dobyns, and Loomis glx., so far carbonlite is right up there in light weight and sensitivity. Time will tell on toughness.

I will buy again.
