I look back on 2010 and man I had a blast. I met more people on this site and fished with so many different anglers it all seems to run together. This is something I am doing for the first time. I figure it would be something neat that you could get bound after the year is over. I have a file on my desktop and am going to try and keep it updated. Just writing down where I fished and who i fished with, what baits worked, water temperature, conditions and what I learned etc. Just wondering if anyone has thought about doing this for 2011 as well because it isn't to late.

Yup, got a notebook of tournamet notes. Keeping an excell sheet of all fish landed. Length, location, date, bait.

I used to keep one and mis-placed it with my last notes in 2007. The more I looked in it, the more I forgot what I did during certain times. It's definately worth the time and effort.

journal is the best thing and "fishing secret" I came up with. Can't believe how helpful it is

I-Phone app called After the catch. Works great and easy to use. Have used it for about a year now.

I just started keeping one this year. If nothing else to be able to look back at it later on and enjoy the memories.

My journal:

Day 1 at mysterious lake: Cold, raining and cold. Ran 40 minutes to get to spot. Realized after rain stopped I could have launched 5 minutes from spot. Caught lots of fish in mysterious areas using assorted (or not) tactics. Made long run back to vehicle. Friend welched on lunch bet for biggest fish.

Day 2: Went to mysterious spot again, didn't catch much. Friend caught a bigger fish and demanded lunch. I welched.

I've already got several trips logged for 2011. But I've been logging trips since 1976. Kinda dates me , huh? Do'nt aswer that. But over time they really help and are fun to look back on.
