My livewell pump went out yesterday and i was wanting to change it out with the new cartridge style pump. Bad thing is I dont know how to take the broke one out. Has anyone else shanged this on a 2006 SX190? It has the slector switch that lets you recirc, drain, or auto.

I changed the pump on my Sx 180 last year. I popped the cartridge out of the housing and dropped a new one back in. No need to mess with wiring or anything like that.

No sure on a SX but if the pumps are the Rule pumps mounted on the rear of the livewell. You squeeze the ears on each side of the cartridge and then twist it and pull it out of the housing.

Hard part is making sure you squeeze it hard enough for the tabs to release.

the bad thing is the dern thing is under my fuel cell and is the red white and blue cartridge. and I was wanting to change it out with the yellow and black pumps. BUT if I could find the cartridge for the red white and blue I could just change it out.

Mine was located under my charger. Had to disconect the batteries and take the charger out before being able to disconnect the cartridge. Complete pain in the butt. I'd take a look at the options online before digging in the back of the boat. Good luck!
