In late February the whites are up the creeks and rivers spawning in Texas. You may be able to find some hybrids in Conroe in the lower lake trolling 1 oz. Rattletraps or small pet spoons behind 10' to 20' diving plugs off the points and over humps in water between 10' and 30', but it may be slow. The action gets better starting in April. The better suggestion for February would be to take your boat to the Trinity River above Lake Livingston and troll Rattletraps (1/2 oz. and 3/8 oz.). If the water is low and clear (by relative standards -- it's never really clear) the fishing can be fantastic.

As before I appreciate the replys! KEEP THEM COMING! With fishing it seems we cannot get enough info. With me being from MI I truely understand that I am out of place on this board and might not be well received, not so! Nice people. Spoke to my friend who has a place in Port Mansfield, he is there now. He hopes to sell and buy on Lake Livingston. His son lives in Tyler as do the "new grandkids".
Now 9 dergees, snowing and 25mph wind, up here. As you could guess I am not in my boat!
Enjoy!

I don't know if I would trade fishin in Port Mansfield for Livingston. I sure like Livingston but Port Mansfield is really god for trout.
