I like a jig n pig. Just your favorite jig with a pork trailer. In winter it seems to produce when nothing else will for me. Last year at this time it was all I used.

What would a good selection of jigs look like for clear/slightly stained and off colored water. I'm not sure what colors are best for a particular water condtion, nor the weight i should use. Do they work all year round?

I fish jigs year round. When the water gets cold using pork gives the jig more action. The bigest thing is to fish it extremly slooooooow. The lighter you can fish is usually better for me because it seems the fish will hold it longer. I will use a 1/4 oz if I fish shallow. I also will use a hair jig and see which they prefere. Black and blue are the old faithful stand-by. I use that or a brown/black or a brown/green. Thats whats works for me. Best of luck.

Man you use a heavy "weedless" rig and then you use like an "pig" as a trailer. The "pig" is commenley mad by uncle josh. It comes in a small jar. make sure that after you hook the pig on your hook the hook is still exposed or they can have a hard time hooking a fish. Throw it out..let it sit.. and gentley lift your rod tip to feel a :tick, tick, tick: then YANK!
