I have been using throwlines alot the past month for catfish. I been using perch for bait and hooking them between the dorsal fin and where the tail starts. Im wondering if theres a better method.

That is where I was taught to hook them over 40 years ago! It has always worked for me.
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

ive just started hookin them through the eyes. They stay alive, plus, they are blind and cant elude the catfish that come to swallow em.

Sometimes I will hook them in the eyes, but I prefer the back. Try cutting a small part of the tail off it does help.
