That bank reminds me of Cotton Reel in the second photo. Looks like a great spot. Glad it has better fish than Cotton Reel.

The banks are steep and not a lot of places to set up a rod. This section of the San Antonio River is scheduled for the Mission Reach upgrade. Hopefully, they will grade the ground more level in a few places to make it more angler friendly.

If they do like they did with all the other River Walk sections, it's going to be made a no fishing zone. frown Let's hope they decide to allow fishing since there won't be a lot of folks actually walking that section.

FISH ON!!! ummmmm off

This portion of the the riverwalk expansion is to restore the river back to a more natural state and include paddling and fishing. Hopefully it stays that way.

There is some info here . Phase one is complete and they have started phase two. I am actually looking forward to this and hope it continues forward.

The carp in the picture is about 10-12 pounds and about 26-28 inches long.

Nice Fish. Good job. I have fished by the Espada Dam on many occasions but for Gills and Bass. I also have fished the south side of the river on the other side of Loop 410. There are some easier areas to get to in that section.
