Well guys glad to see everyone enjoying the Buffs at Decker.

I sent Ted a pm about those fish out there & he made a post about Decker on the board.
I reported what I knew about the fish out there & got hammered. Lmao- Decker sucks- too much grass-
No fish- ha- I bet you will see a 50 lb + soon . & one more time for the record- Eddie had a 70 lb + buff out there late 90s-
We caught way more carp back then than buffs but we were summer fishing! I had one spot that would produce a dozen + carp in a short morning fishing. I suspect the carp are still there in good numbers.

Next time this old man may just keep his mouth shut!

Enjoy
Tom

Tom, I thank you very much for the spot information. Which, BTW, I never leaked. I did mention Decker to see if anyone had info on it to help me along in my endeavors.

That being said, no one has fished the spot I fished in yet, only the other spot. (I will leave that location up to yall)

I hope I did not rock the boat in any way. I will be fishing decker in a few weeks and hope to finally snap my buffalo dry spell. My buddy lives pretty near there and will be pre-baiting it for us.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. PM if you don't want it out. I wont share any info that is not wanting to be shared.

Thanks guys!!

PB Common Carp....... 38 lbs
PB Mirror Carp........12 lbs 8 oz
PB SM Buffalo........ 53 lbs

Ted
If you did not post I would have. I was trying to share with ALL the guys. Decker
is a great buff fishery for all to enjoy.

There is a ledge on the right side of the boat ramp. Water drops from 5 to 18 ft- in a short distance.. grass does not grow to the right of the ledge. That is where Eddie caught many over 50 & the 70. We kept it baited with cubes & it worked. Long cast may snag if so shorten cast. We caught tons of carp there also. I think the key was we would throw a few cubes several times a week. That spot remains fishable in the summer when the grass is bad.

Enjoyed meeting you-- let me know when you are coming & I will try to pre bait & meet you out there.

Tom

From TPWD

"All the shoreline around the lake is owned by the City of Austin. Bank angling is limited but available at Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park, public boat ramp. The park is day use only, with no overnight camping allowed."

That sucks

If all the good spots were shared then there wouldn't be any good spots left.

Yeah, it'd have to be a day trip on the way to Emma, or the way back from Emma lol.

Ted -- the big ones give very timid bites, totally unlike Carp. Use running rigs, small hooks/baits, keep your hangers/swingers light -- and don't be shy about hitting a very slow lift on the bobbin.
Good Luck thumb
