I am thinking about buying a 2,000 yard spool of Trilene fluorocarbon line. This will save about 15% on the price of 200 yard spools and I get very frustrated after filling a reel and having about 20 yeards or so left on the spool. There are only so many C-rig leaders I can use. I figure I waste a whole spool per year this way so even more savings.
So... my question is, how long does unused fluorocarbon last? Will it get brttle, develop memory, or have any other issues on the spool. Based on how oftern I respool, I figure that the 2,000 yard spool will last me about a year or perhaps a little longer.

Agreed, just leave it or take it in the house after use.
