I met John Hope when he as doing some research at Lake Amistad. Great guy. He taught me alot about big bass. His book and video are eye opening about big bass habits.

Tony

In the spring of 1986 I was 10. My brother in that picture would have been 7. In those days there was no coming in for lunch. We carried bread and lunch meat and made sandwiches and had chips and cookies as well. We fished daylight to dark. We loved it. In fact most everyday we would clean a limit of bass. Man how the times have changed.

Curt

No that paint had been gone for a while on that old 150 Mercury.

Great pictures. Brought back my memory of my first trip to Fork in my dad's old stick steering boat heading to the back of Birch when the power lines were at the very back end. Some area's of the lake were unreachable for many years which is what made the lake so great to me. It was like fishing a different lake year after year.
Really enjoyed visits with John Hope during those days also and hear his vast knowledge of bass fishing.
