I am considering a new troling motor, foot controled. To use on a Tracker TF 1800. I am leaning toward a Motor Guide TR 82 FB Digital 45, 82# thrust, 24 volt.

Any suggestions make or models, pro or con?
Thanks

I'm on my second one of those. I ran the old one 7000 hours and decided to treat myself to a new one. My old one is alive and well on a boat reconstruct project 20 miles from here. There is nothing else on the market that interests me.

That is a conservative estimate based on the fact that I fish over 100 days each year and seldom use the big motor more than 20-30 minutes per outing. My boat runs pretty well and I fish within 6-10 miles of launch area.

My Smart craft gauge said I had over 400 hours on the motor when I bought the new tmotor.

So figure at least 7 hours of fishing for a 30 minute run times 100 days of fishing = 1400 hours per year. I had it for 8 years 1400X8=11200 so you do the math and see if my 7000 is on the low or high side.
