When I came across these photos they almost brought a tear to my eye. The first was taken in Ray Branch April 1990. That is me in the back of John Hope's boat. Many of yall may remember him. He did the tracking of bass all over the state, guided on Fork for several years and in my mind the authority of big bass. John was also the host of Fishing Texas in the early mid 90s. John mentored me in many ways. He is no longer in the fishing business but we still keep in touch. John is a true gentlemen and a class act.

The other picture was taken in the back of Elm Creek spring break 1986. Look at the old ABU reel and tru-turn hooks hat. That is my little brother holding the bass. Growing up we either spent our spring breaks on Toledo Bend or Lake Fork. Seth and I were blessed with a great dad who always had time to take us fishing.

Love the old Lake Fork pictures. I have some pictures from there that were taken in the early 80's. I was fishing with a friend of mine (long past away) that guided there. His name was "Lucky" and he owned a body shop there on Fork.

Cool, that is back when there was a lot of standing timber in Fork. Remember the huge red wasp nests out there in the trees?

I bought Johns book about tracking trophies on Fork at a tackle show a few years ago.

Wow, great pics, those really were the days on fork. I remember Mr. Hope put a transmitter in one fish that stayed in the first cove off that first point in wolf, going in its on the right, where all the boat docks are now, during the day she would be in the creek somewhere and at night she would feed on the point. LOL We tried for ever to catch that fish

Catching bass is odviously the name of the game, but there is nothing like the memories of just fun fishing with your dad, brother, best friend or whoever. It seems like anymore we fisherman (myself included) lose sight of that.
