They're there. Every deep hole above Kimball has them. But, you have to keep the white bass off long enough to catch them. I probably caught a hundred white bass Saturday. I got crappie too, though. I just kept the biggest eight, and released the rest, along with all the white bass. This is the roughest my thumb's been in quite a while.

Just find the big schools of shad. A 1/8 ounce tube jig straight down 10 feet or so worked well (so much for the "tube jigs aren't good in cold water" theory; water temp was 40 degrees). Casting a tube jig worked well, too. I also caught some on tied jigs, casting two jigs tied 12 inches apart. I got more double hookups with white bass than I got crappie on that rig, though.

Thanks. Good report! Wish I would'a read it before I went to Benbrook. I went up both the Mustang and Bear Creek branches. Didn't catch a thing.
