Hello All ! Just want to introduce myself !My Name is Pete & I live in VA & came to this site to learn , mainly about Trophy Trout ! Believe it or not We have a Great trout fishery here in VA , but not like ya'll ! Caught my first big trout this past Dec. she was 28 inches & wieghed in at 7lb 12ounce . I am now ADDICTED to this fishery ! We practice catch & release . At this point in time all I know to fish is suspending twitch baits which work great for me ! I have seen these lures for sale at my local tackle store , Paul Brown lures ? I see they are a good baits for larger trout !So can some one Please help me out with Type of Rod/Reel to use & type of line(Mono or Braid?) what lb test to use with this tupe of lures? When is it best fished ? We fish from a boat on the Elizabeth River here in VA , the area has shallows , the main river is 16-20 feet deep , there are many coves as well that we fish , just lookin for new ways to fish & new tactics for Large Sow Specks ! Take care & Tight lines !

Welcome aboard and i have heard good things about your area of the country... you might try soft plastics on 1/4 jig head in the deeper part of the the river when it gets cold. i have done well down on the Aroyyo Colorado that feeds into the Lower Laguna Madre doing that during the winter...

Thank you for your replies way2slickrick & TX Grizzly. Have not thought about the jig head with soft body .I will most deffinately give it a go ! Thank you for the idea !

dont forget about the classic mirrorlure top/she dog and super spooks get alot of gator trout down here as well.
