More regulations are not the answer on the Brazos and I have serious doubts that they are the answer on Texoma.

I completely agree that it is not "THE" answer but it is an answer that will help foster the popluation of larger stripers and will prevent someone from putting a 10 pound fish in the frying pan while leaving a tag available for a wall hanger if you so choose to use it for that purpose.

Stripers, of course, are not native and have to deal the other factors as you mentioned the golden alge as well as the Texas heat which also has a big impact on the larger fish. However, those aspects seem to be out of our control while implementing new regulations are not.

TPWD has been stocking Stripers in PK almost every year since 1975, and in lage numbers. Several years they stocked from 1 Mil to 3 Mil fry and fingerlings. Granted, there are lots of fish that prey on those, but thats a pretty good stocking rate.

It seems even if the size is not there, the numbers should be.

No apology required. smile

Big fish always inspire or strike a chord in some of us. It's what inspires us, makes us think and keeps us up at night, wrestless in mind and body.

I hope folks can appreciate the countless hours and years spent both on the water and off, that each of the striper catches represent.
