I wish I could say tears were not streaming down my cheeks as I write this reply. I thank you all for seeing the soul in his eyes like I do. You see all the stumps in the background, I have fond memories of being hung up with a tiny torpedo on one and Pop looking back and saying "how in the world did you get hung up on the only stump in the lake?!" I used to laugh all through a trip. This year he told Alicia and I that he lives to see us coming to Toledo. As you can imagine it is our joy to go!  Thank You All for reading!

My grand dad was who introduced me to the sport also and I thank him every time I get on the water. Great post and tell him thanks for his sacrifice.

It's early in the year, but I nominate this for "Best Post of the Year"!!!
Best post and pic I've seen in some time. I'll bet your G-Pa will get a bigger kick knowing he's "Worldwide" now!

Haven't fished with my Pawpaw in over a decade after going every weekend with him until I was 12. Just bought my first bass rig last week and hope to take him to our spots again soon. Won't care if we catch a thing.

I have spoken with Mr. Nixon a number of times and he is a great guy. Though sometimes I wish he hadn't taught you to fish that Texas rig so well or should I say so slow. Bring it with you the next two days. We're going to need it.
