My son-in-law and I went catfishing Sunday with Cliff Hill on Calaveras. I haven't fished with many guides but I'm putting this guy at the top of my list. He spoiled us big time. We put 57 keeper channel cat in the boat and released a number of small blues. Had a ball!! Gonna put this guys # on my speed dial.

well.....he changed careers(he works for SAWS now) and he got back into hunting. He spends alot of time in that native archery stuff! I have not seen or heard from him in a while myself. i think I will call and check on him! it won't be long until it will be time for the Cally Catmen get-together and he needs to be there!

Can't wait for the get-together this year. Last year was my first year fishing in TX and I met a ton of great people there and have learned so much from a bunch of them, including Cliff. Cliff also got me my first flathead(19.5#) and a nice blue(14.7#), both personal bests, when I went on a trip with him. Sounds like your trip was a great one.

Fishing is as good as it gets on cally right now- shallow or deep shad, big marvs and team catfish double action hooks...a man cant go wrong...
First time in 6 years since guding we ever weighed fillets...the boys took home 31 pds for 50 fish...not too shabby for calaveras

It was April 10th last year if I remember correctly. That time of year you never know how the weather will be. The colder the better for me though.
