I'm not gonna buy a rod more than $100. Guess I'm fishing with garbage! Should probably give up fishing I fish with garbage also, but it doesnt bother me. I don't have a single rod that was over 40.00 I use plenty of the H2O rods that I got for 25.00 and they are working for me.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Haven't tride the newer ones but use to use the older original models and never had a problem with them. I wouldn't be scared to buy one. I do hear a lot of stories about them blowing up but have yet to see it happen. Just incase I would buy it from a place that has a return policy, but wouldn't shy away from buying one.

Carrot stix are the worst rods I have ever had the honor to fish with. I had won two or three in years past on the college tour and donated them all to a kid in my neighborhood! He didn't even fish, he just used them to tie on a fake mouse so he could play with his cat, it wouldn't sit well with me if I gave them to somebody that actually fished...JUNK

I have had several carrot stix...I have only 1 blow up on me. I bought them because of the life time over the counter replacement. The company no longer honors the warranty so I quit buying them....Not a bad rod just dont think it is as good as some other rods with the same kind of warranty for the same price. I hear nothing but great things about the Abu veritas for the same $$ as the wild

The new rod I have is as sensitive and light as it could possibly be.

My partner has a boatload of them and likes them just fine...and I promise you he's rockin' a more manly hookset than all the women in this thread here.

When Carrot Stix first came out they received a lot of rave reviews. Then later they had alot of them breaking, many when brand new. Now you seldom hear of any recent issues. That point to a bad batch, maybe a BIG bad batch. That soured them for many people, and I can't blame them. I purchased all mine on sale. I felt the sale price was good. They are light, sensitive, and I have had zero issues. They compare pretty even with my Loomis IMX's. In fact, I have had issues with two of my IMX's, none with the Carrot Stix. They are not junk, they did however have a rash of breakage! I think you are pretty safe buying one, but you can also check out St Croix Mojo Bass rods as well. I have never used one, but people seem to like them.

I've picked up the rod at basspro and I like the balance of the rod, but i didn't like the grip. The foam is not like the really soft spongy foam that are on the regular carrot stix. It's more similar to the skeet reese grips and to me I don't like that as much. Just my opinion. I will probably still pick one up to try out because the price is right.

Only problem I have with the carrot stix is when I pull it out of the rod locker, I always feel like I have to put "Ranch" dressing on it.

What do you think of them?
I personally liked how they felt. To me they felt lighter than the Veritas but didnt have the size I was looking for. Also for around your price range id check out the Bass Pro Carbonlites.

Im really looking for a soft tip. I have a skeet reese rod that I really like I just want to try something else no real reason. But I like all the abu rods but they are a lil to stiff for what Im looking for. I will check out the BP Carbonlites

Too many good rods on the market to gamble on one that has a bad rep.
