Caught 12 this morning on Calaveras drifting cut Tilapia. I looked for the bait, which seemed to be holding at 13 to 15 ft. I drifted that depth and got bites. Any time I drifted into deeper or shallower water I ran out of bites. Most were caught across the lake from the big reed bed before you get to the power lines. Anybody else go?

Hey Jess...Good to hear that you got into them and that they are still biting. I went about a week ago and fished mostly down by the dam area. Fished deep, fished shallow, nothing ! Used cut tilopia, shad and live perch. Guess I hit one of those times when nothing is biting. Have you done any good up by the "cable" ? Finding any shad ? Think I'll go this week if the weather behaves.

UJ --

Was that on the right side of the lake
or the left (up there by the power line)
if you were facing up the creek channel ?

thanks, dxr

Up the right side (Calaveras Creek?). I tried the left side, past the bridge, to the left of the cable last Sunday and caught one Blue.
Last Sunday, while I was cleaning that one Blue, a guy unloaded his catch of almost 200 lbs of catfish. A 20# Yellow, a 15# Blue and many, many 6's and 8's. Caught on trot lines up the left side past the cable. He baits with large, live Tilapia. So the fish are up there but I can't find them.

I went out today from abut 9am to 2pm.
One bite, one fish. Small channel cat.
Everyone I talked to said it was all
ahead S-L-O-W on the lake today.
