My family gave me a new G. Loomis GLX for Christmas this year (my first Loomis). I was looking for a reel for it and had it down to the Shimano Core; Revo STX, Premier; or maybe another one or two. I then started looking for the best deal out of what I wanted.

I found the newest 2010 Revo Premier on Amazon for $190.00, no tax and free shipping... local retail stores are selling this same reel for $279.00 + tax. I just got it in the mail today and haven't used it yet. I have two of the 2010 STX reels and have liked them very much.

Anyway, if they are still available and you are interested it appears to be a very good deal to me. God Bless, I hope everyone has a great year of fishing.

Neither, if they were for sale it would have been posted in the classified/trade section. I was just letting anyone that might be wanting to purchase the Premier that was the best deal I found while looking.

Lol....oops I did I search after entering the trade classified and your post popped up for some reason...figured it only searched that part of the forum list. Sorry...

Those are good reels though and 190 is pretty cheap....in check gander mountain this weekend too if your close to one. Picked up 3 premiers last year for 135 each.

I hope they improved the Premier over the last couple of years. I had 2 both of which died quickly. Poor drag and the bearings started screaming after a couple of months.

the 2 that I had --1 the drag burned up on it(it does not have the same drag system as the other revos) and the replacement started having a bearing scream. I took it back as well. I could have just been really unlucky I guess.

I have 3 of the older premiers, 2 2010 premiers, an STX, SX, and 3 S's.

My only real issue with any of them is the ceramic insert falling out of the lineguide on one of s's.

My only issue with the older premier is in the drag range. Too few clicks between lockdown and loose. I found greasing the washer to fix this issue.

Good Reel, HOpe it doesn't break anytime soon as getting parts is a shot in the dark. That is another Silstar-Pflueger-Pinnacle Reel that is made in South Korea and the Parts availability is limited at best.

I have an STX in my Shop that has been sitting there since November waiting on a Right Side plate because the AR bearing went out on a hard hookset. Still no idea from Spirit Lake when I will get one. The good thing is they will offer you 40% off on a new one.

Have you tried southwesternparts.com? They list part #1125767 for just over $22.

Their shop is actually your warranty service center if you are in mississippi.

I haven't used the 2010 Premiers, but the drag on the 2009 is pretty weak.

I am a wholesale dealer with Southwestern. I spent probably 5 grand with them last year on parts that the manufacturers were out of stock, have discontinued or were on back order. Listing and having is two entirely different things. As of last week theirs was on backorder also.

Thanks for the suggestion though

Tony
