I actually work at a WW Treatment Plant I am a Pump Mech with a "C" Operators lic. The WW that we treat is first blasted with Cl2 then before it hits the river is blasted with SO2(Of course there are many treatment steps in between this) . The WW that leaves the plant is very clean. It eventually runs in to the Red River then down to Lake Texoma. I believe at Lake Livingston there is a WW plant at one side and a Water plant at the other which means its pulling out cleaned for drinking, town uses it, goes back to the WW plant and right back into the lake. If there are individuals that is leaking into the lake or factory doing the same it is your responsibility to call TCEQ and report them as much as possible.

If you have never seen the process of treating wastewater call your local wastewater plant and see if they will give you a tour of the plant. Most cases the water that leaves the plant is better than what is in the river or lake.

Best way to report the sewer being dumped by a home owner is call the county health department. They are who regulates the contracts for septic systems and are itching to write fines for non contracted systems. I had to do this when someone moved a trailer in next to our property and was dumping raw sewage into a pond and creek. They installed a septic system and the health department declined all permits and had to dig it all back up and now there is no longer a trailer there.

Good info. Call the local County Health Officer and if it's not taken care of call the closest TCEQ ofice.

And, if that don't work, call the local news media. These local and state offices don't like bad press. And the local media are usually looking for a good investigative report.

Deep Well water. Most cities had them for years and was good, safe drinking water and required very little clorination, but they found out its CHEAPER to use surface water also look at all of the homes surronding the lake--TAX MONEY. Could'nt build but a couple of houses surrounding a well. Its all about money--Thats what Jesse Ventura said----FOLOW THE MONEY!!!

Oh i forgot about getting rid of the sewage---dump it in the river and let it go to the ocean its already polluted anyway.

Do you think the ground water below the metrolpex is enough to sustain the metroplex? Ask Houston how taking all the groundwater has worked out for them, subsidence. How long does it take for water to replenish the aquifer versus how long does it take to replenish a lake or river?

There is plenty of water.Scientist say were sitting on not a lake but an ocean of water. I dont know about Houston's ground water, but i'm talking about deep wells, like the ones i worked on back in the early 70's, any where from 1100' to 2600' deep

Many of the homes around CC have drainage pipes that route ground run off water from the front of the house to the lake. Is it not possible you were seeing one of these pipes.

You gotta watch what you believe on tv. I watched a few of these shows about conspiracy a while ago. I was ready to take up arms and fight. They have you so convinced the world is out to get you its scary.

Mr rollins is correct some what about the drainage pipes. Most all houses on Cedar Creek have 4" drains @ the retaining wall draining run off and gutters, BUT alot and i mean alot of the houses that are still on septics have a 4" overflow pipe off of the latteral line running in the lake because water in the lattereal will not soak in the clay soil. Sometimes there is soap suds and sewer odor present around these pipes. By the way i was a plumber for several years and unstopped several of these lines and then called TCEQ and reported them, but as you know they never did anything.
My original post was talking about the city sewers disharging into the lake not properly treated and one of the post wanted to know what i did for the city. Before plumbing i was the water superintendent 6 years for a city that discharged treated sewer into the lake. We tested twice a week and it failed almost every time because of plant issues that the city could'nt afford to fix. TCEQ new of the problem and for the 6 years i was there they did nothing about it, but don't worry, at the rate we're going, in a few years all that will be left in Texas will be illegal's from Mexico anyway. I guess we'll have to move futher upstream.
