Def either the anti-reverse or drag slipping. Make sure its cleaned and not to use too much oil or it will mess up your drag too.

Sounds like drag slipping you might have to replace the drag washers. I know with revos if you keep the drag tight all the time it will flatten the washers after a while if set the the hook hard or snap the lure free of grass something similar will happen.

Revos are very solid reels and rarely have any issues. Operator error?

Had it cleaned and oiled by RTee here at Fork. He said it was the anti reverse. He said its beginning to be a very common problem with the revos and said it was no suprise to him that this was my second revo doing this. He said its no fault of mine.

He also said that to fix this for a revo you have to order a whole side plate, not just the bearing. Its $30 bucks, but theyre always on back order.

He said the clean and oil should solve the problem, hopeflly I wont need to replace the antireverse.

This guy knew his stuff, glad I got to meet him and talk fishing with him for a while. Mark Pack referred me to him. He's by the pond on 515, just west of the water tower.
