The old Carrot Stix used to break, there were many reported problems with them, but the new models as stated here in one of the posts are great! I also use the Dobyns and the Boyd Duckett rods and really like them. I have them on sale right now as well and I offer free baits with all orders to TBF forum members at my site. Tight lines, Steve

Thanks for the info. I've had several different flipping sticks through the years but never found one I liked. They don't have any Dobyns at any retail stores down in south texas so I will wait a while until I get a chance to handle several different ones.

I just got the new 7'7 mh flippin rod from Powell. It is the new endurance series. $169 at TW. I'm very impressed with jigs and carolina rig. I caught several fish with it at squaw last weekend throwing a rig. Great sensitivity. No problem discerning gravel from mud from larger rock. Strikes were easy to read even on slack line. I was throwing a 3/4 oz rig weight a long long long way. It is perfect for 1/2 3/4 oz jigs as well. Great backbone with a lively tip. Very light for its length. Perfect handle for long cast, and doesn't hurt my wrist to flip.

I have been a pitcher/flipper for 40 plus years In fact Dave Glebe taught me how to flip at a fishing show at the dallas fishing show at fair park..
I bought my self one of Skeet Reese flipping rod this year Was I ever surprised at the weight and the ability the rod to help me. I did not have to touch the bait to get the bait to fly to the prefect spot. Easy to pitch/flip and then I caught a fish THe extra length made setting the hook easy and the control the fish of the fish was great Love the small area to hold the rod in hand Best $100 dollars I have spent on a rod
