You think they would get mad if we ran water hoses from the local businesses down to the lake?

Grant, With a response like this below in a previous post. I don't think any significant amount of rain will compensate for the Corp not wanting to hold the water we get.
"I emailed the Army Corp. about the lake levels. This is the reason and response that I received. I thought I would pass this to ya'll!
Mr. Wright;
Thank you for inquiring about the proposed lake level reduction on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. I am not a spokesman for LNVA, and I may not have all the facts exactly right. This is my current understanding of the situation.
The Lower Neches Valley Authority (LNVA) owns and operates a Salt Water Barrier on the lower end of the Neches River. Since it's construction in 2004, this barrier has greatly reduced the frequency of reduced lake levels at Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Prior to construction of this barrier, summer lake levels well below elevation 160' NGVD (even in the low 150's) were common. Significant amounts of water had to be released from Sam Rayburn to prevent salt water from intruding up the Neches River, threatening the nearby wetlands and the water supply for farmers, the city of Beaumont and other outlying communities.
LNVA intends to perform considerable work improvements on the Salt Water Barrier this summer, which will likely lower the lake level on a temporary basis, until the needed work can be accomplished. The Lower Neches River Authority owns much of the water rights within the Angelina River Basin, and this includes Sam Rayburn Reservoir. LNVA has water rights down to elevation 149' NVGD within Sam Rayburn. If LNVA requests the water, the US Army Corps of Engineers must release it. HOWEVER, LNVA, the Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Power Administration, Texas Parks and Wildlife and other entities are working together to make this needed repair as "painless" as possible.
At this time, indications are the work on the Salt Water Barrier may begin in late August. We do not know the timing nor the extent of the proposed drawdown. LNVA is currently working this situation to accommodate all the partners and stakeholders. Again, the proposed drawdown would be a temporary measure, and the Lake would be allowed to return to a more "normal" level.
I hope this information helps. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions. "

Rainfall at Etoile on the Northern end of the lake this week, 1.5". Not too much help since it was a slow rain and not much, if any, runoff.
