Please forgive my ignorance in advance, but that's why I read the forum. Are the crappie out deep in the lakes or in the rivers? Obviously they are in both from the posts. Do they move up the rivers now or are there some crappie that prefer the creeks? I live close to Proctor, are the creeks there (Leon) possibly full of crappie? I thought they were deep now and moved in a month or two. thanks for any info.

As you said; they're in both. Depth of the crappie is relative to the depth of the water they're in. At this time of year, the fish follow the shad, whether the shad are up a creek or sitting in deeper water in the lake. All creeks/rivers have crappie and some of them are resident to those creeks and rivers, never seeing the lake. So if you're gonna fish lakes now, I would recommend fishing about 3-5' deeper than the shad that you see on your graph. If you're gonna fish creeks and rivers, start shallow and work your way deeper (or vice versa) until you locate the depth that they are holding.

There may not be enough water in the creeks at Proctor right now, but you may try the bridge. It usually produces good fish. People have submerged debris along the pillars. The boat dock at sowell creek has debris under it and has produced fish. Hope this helps.
