After last week having to put a prop on. Got on lake this morning in dismal temp and back boat in to water. Primed it and couldn't get it started it just seems like it isn't getting fire. It is a 1979 Evinrude 115 what do i look for if it just seems like it isn't getting fire.

If it isn't getting fire i would start by ohming the lanyard switch but remember when it is colder it takes a richer mixture to get the engine started Are you sure that your primer is working?

I think it should, may not have a cord though. It should be on the bottom of the gear/throtle control box. It will be a push pin that is held in by a keeper.

Quick test to determine if it's fuel delivery or ignition...a quick squirt of starting fluid will let you know right away which way to look.

Look at control shifter area. Nothing as far as pin or anything. Also already shot starting fluid in a lake and again at home

Then...if you had zero fire with ether, then you KNOW it's an ignition issue.
