went out and braved the winds saturday had planned going a week ago to drift for some cats. Shad were easy to find they were pretty much blown up on bank. We drifted back and forth up near cotton wood park dragging two drift socks. after we dried out from the ride we ended up with 17 keepers and a couple of sand bass. We only caught the fast ones even with 2 drift socks we were moving pretty good.

Got skunked in the wind Sat. Couldn't get to my holes. Set out jugs along the north side of the island. Nada. Fished the tires for crappie. Nada. Had a great time on CC Sunday though.

Just got back from lake LL about 20 minutes ago. Same old story...took about 5 waves over the bow of my boat and just couldn't fish my spots with the waves coming across the lake and trying to drown me. Retreated to the dam and picked up a couple of keepers but mostly small channels. The fish were stacked on the windy points as were the baitfish; really ticks ya off when wind spoils everything. When a gasper goo is the best fish you catch all day, you know you've had a rough outing. Maybe this wind will calm down later in the week.
