I'm asking for opinions for those of you that have structure scan for your Lowrance. Where do you have your transducer mounted.

I just installed mine last weekend. (gotta love my for for that christmas present) Anyhow, I installed the transducer a bit above and to the right of my normal xducer, about 2 inches up and over. This is on an aluminum boat w/o a jackplate. it worked great on my test run of the unit.

It's a good idea to mount those imaging transducers above
the running surface as you have done. There is no need to drag them around at speed. Stop by our Booth at the Texas Fishing Show.

Peering over the transom at 50mph to find that
elusive "smooth spot" is just plain poor
judgement.

Jason, I am installing it on my 94 ss140 skeeter. I had planned on mounting it to the jake plate but my jackplate is only a six inch. Will that matter. The illistrations in the instructions showed that the transducer looked to fit up inside the jackplate. If I can mount it the the jack plate do I mount it on the side or the rear of the jack plate where it is bolted to the transom.

if you mount on your JP make sure you lower motor first and make sure it doesn't hit transducer. I've seen some 6inch JP touch the the transducer and they had to move it.

Post pic of your transom and JP.

Captain Chris makes a good product for LSS-1 mount.

I just ordered one and here are some ideas I had. From the info given on the manual it looks like the distance between the holes on the left and the holes on the right are less than 2" apart. Go to a hardware store pick up some 2" 90degree aluminum angle cut to length and on whatever side you want to mount it on the jack plate just drill 2 1/4" holes and mount it with 2 1/4" Stainless bolts with lock nuts. This should keep it out of the way of everything.

Here is what I am going to do. I just bought a hole shot plate and I plan to mount it to that.
