Navionics 2011

Navionics is not offering a new product release for 2011 � Navionics will manage updates thru the freshest data concept. Any Navionics HotMaps Premium, HotMaps Platinum, Fish�N Chip, Gold or Platinum+ products purchased Oct 1st 2010 onward will be eligible for unlimited updates of the gold component for one year. Navionics webstore is expected to be available in the coming days. The customer can then register his/her chart on the webstore and then will be able to obtain the updates for one year at no charge.

I have spoken with the Product Managers regarding new Texas data and have been informed that new fishing information has been sourced and is currently under review for inclusion to our product but I am unable to provide any dates for this.

When you buy Navionics HotMaps Premium, HotMaps Platinum, Fish�N Chip, Gold or Platinum+ products you are eligible for unlimited updates of the gold component for one year � this means you get the Freshest Data. In addition, when you download to your phone, iPad or PC you also get all the User Generated Content.

That is awesome news. I just bought the Platinum+ from BPS two days ago.

What types of updates will be available?

Updates will actually take many forms and there will likely be multiple content updates available throughout the year (and futher out) on even single lakes as new data becomes available, is verified, and published.

The new data is gained through a simple download at the Navionics web store. Again, you can update AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT FOR FREE for one year from date of chart registration on the webstore.

Types of data may include

-New more accurate shoreline data (which is where accuracy starts)
-New sources incorporated (Roadbeds, submerged ponds, creek channels)
-New User Generated content from YOU and other pro anglers via our new Mobile apps for the iPhone and Droid
-Corrections
-New survey data
-Brushpiles and other FADs that tend to be updated annually.
-Anything we feel is an advantage for the Navionic's customer.

The goal is to build the undisputed BEST maps through regular content addition ongoing as opposed to once a year.

Lake FORK is the first target for the new data. Followed by Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn. Thats just the start.

I've seen the data (and even collected some of it myself) and it rivals anything available on the market from any company. The key is, its yours, for free, if you own Navionics!

I, personally, will be plenty happy to see the new content available. Navionics has always been the first to listen to our customers and now has the opportunity, and ability, to create the ultimate TX lake map product...no need to shop anyone else.
