I was just wondering if anyone else is struggling as bad as I am at local ponds? I've tried everything lately and have banked two lmb in the last 3 months. Both were caught on the same day. Frustrating to say the least. I see all of these pics posted on TFF and think the only thing I haven't tried is fishing from a boat. If your a bank fisherman and are having success, please share your secrets.

Big SKUNKO for me the last 3 times I have gone out. But was still better than anything else that was planned.

That's for sure. I'm not complaining about going fishing, just complaining about catching!! Any day out is a good day.

do have any rocks in these ponds or maybe just try waiting till 2:00 pm on the sunnier days that have had warm nights the night before and fish your baits slow, shallow, and let the fish have them for a second, they dont just eat it real fast.

Not really any rocks to speak of. Lots of vegitation. As far as lures, I've tried black and blue jig, spinners, inline spinners, rattletraps and swim baits. Just about anything you can think of. I'll try later in the day. I've been going from about 10am til 1pm.

Go small and watch the barometer. The fishing has been up and down lately. The barometric pressure will be 29.90-29.80 give or take some when the fish are biting the best. Warm days also seem to be producing. Go small! little 3 inch craw baits, small finesse jigs, 1/8oz roadrunners with plastics, etc. I fly fish a lot more than I conventional fish and i've been using little 1-1.5 inch streamers in black or brown or purple dragged right above the bottom. Check out my blog for recent reports, i've been catching a few every few days when I go out.

You may want to try some other areas to fish. Also try some different baits as well. Soon or later you will get a string of good days. Hang in there. Good things happen when you keep fishing.

@ Ambrot- My favorite and closest is in Frisco at Frisco commons park. I also frequent Russel park in Plano, and bethany lakes in Allen. Thanks for the tip.
@1214- thanks for the tips, I'll give it a try. I go fishing almost everyday, so I'll let y'all know how it goes. I went today after class and I'm still trying to wash off that skunk odor.!!

I caught two today that went around 15 inches but fished for two hours to get them. Both were caught on a wacky rigged watermelon red senko fished slow,in shallow, sunny water so you might try that too.

ive been getting skunked for the past 3-4 trips in the 2 ponds i fish. ive tried the lipless red eyed shad crank and its not working, ive also been throwing my assortment of worms. For some reason ive just had a string of bad luck lately. But like the others say i would rather fish and catch nothing than not fish at all.

You can't beat fishing in the dark. Feeding patterns might be different than your fishing patterns.
