it doesnt get hot anymore. i think its the heater coil. where is it, what do i need to change it, difficulty level?

Check the breaker box. The dryer will run but not heat if one of the two circuit breakers is tripped.

Most likely in the back. Remove the back cover and you should see a housing with the heater coils inside. You'll need a screwdriver and/or nutdriver(s) to do the work.

Make sure the lint filter is clean and the vent tubing is not kinked.

If the dryer is a Sears brand, search for your part here with a part number: Sears Parts Direct

They should have all things Sears brand. Then you can go to the nearest Sears parts store, not the mall stores, and get the parts you need.
