Today I took my boat out of the first time in about 2 1/2 months. My trolling motor batteries showed a full charge last night on the charger. When I dropped the trolling motor...nothing. I checked the connections and everything else I could think of on the water to no success. Finally, loaded up and went by auto parts store and had them test the batterys (24 volt). One battery tested "good" but was only showing 51% charged. The other battery tested "bad" and showed 30-something percent charged.

Here is my question....Even with the batteries that low, should I be getting some sort of response out of the trolling motor? Just trying to figure out if it is a battery issue for sure. Seems to me that the motor would try to go a little bit. I know the batteries are bad though because two different chargers are saying they are fully charged. Thanks for any help.

Mine has had several issues over the years. First I would change the batteries though it should have turned a little, Next if that does not work check fuse they will be either in line or on the battery conection. These can be checked with volt meter at the the front of boat at outlet it must have 24 volts. The outlet itself fried on mine before only made 12. Hope this helps.

Most of the boats that are 10 yrs. old or newer have a breaker for the TM. It is most likely in the rear compartment.
