 Which one to get? Mercury Verado or ProXS 250

I will be ordering my new Z21 Ranger in the next couple of weeks and I am going with Mercury for my engine. Which engine would you choose to power it, the 250 ProXS or the 250 Verado? I know very little about the Verado. Thanks. Merry Christmas to all of you.

ProXS there is alot more of them out there. Would think that Mercury has put alot more effort into making them right.

I would probably go with ProXS. Since you are going with a Ranger, speed isn't your major concern and I believe the ProXS may be offered with a longer warranty than a 250XS. Personally, I would not go the Verado route just because I am not sold on the technology yet.

I have run a 2006 verado 250 for 3 years now and have really enjoyed it till last month. My fuel supply module float swelled up and will not allow fuel into the module. I have been reading alot about this issue and seems to be due to ethanol in the fuel causing the float to swell. This motor has plenty of power, also is very quiet. Fuel economy is on par with a 2 stroke, maybe a little better. I have a 21ft nitro, top speed with this motor is 72mph on gps. I have owned 2-stroke motors before, but i really have enjoyed this verado. The new verado pros have more hole shot from what i have been reading. I hope this helps.

The Verado Pro new for 2011. Its a supercharged verado! Someone needs to buy one lol.
