I lease about six irrigation reservoirs (10 to 60 acres each) for (mostly bass) fishing South of Houston. I have a fishing club and pay plenty for the leases. The lake leases come with electricity for aerators, water from wells or creek pumps, docks, lodge, fish hatchery ponds, greenhouses, etc.

The better the fishery and amenities, the higher the cost for the lease. My leases also includes duck hunting ponds (usually shallow fields used for crawfish production), places to ride ATVs, dove, pig and alligator hunting, etc. usually all part of the overall lease.

I have only 25 members, which is a full boat (membership limit), and a waiting list. Always looking to expand....

Steve,

How does one become a member of the 375 member club, and what are the annual dues?

Please call the office and we can discuss the advantages of fishing on private water, the advantages on fishing on so many private lakes, and the advantages of being the only one on the lake while you are fishing. No other members are on the lake with you. There are rules and a code of conduct which you will need to read and comply with.

Pricing is $595 for the first year and $285 for subsequent years. This gives you access to all 70 lakes (we have added 8 new lakes this year). You pay an additional daily rate to access each property that varies from $35 to $150 per person per day. If you have never fished a managed private lake then you will want to.

So you get to pay a daily rate depending on where you fish?

That is correct. By doing it this way you pay for what you use as opposed to paying a large fee upfront and maybe going only three or four times a year. Most people think they are going to go every other weekend; and they might in March April May September or October. Our experience has been most members only have time to go a handful of times a year and want to make the most of their time off.

If that is the case it would cost me thousands to fish one season.

Our experience is most public lake fisherman spend more on boat storage than they would fishing with us in a year.
