I have been finding brush and limbs that have held crappie this fall but I have heard about guys scanning bluff ends and telling whether or not crappie are on ledges.
I have not been able to do that at all and would love to see some pics if anyone has done this.

I mainly like it because you can really tell what you are fishing. It used to be all I would see is a 'blob' on any other sonar. Now I can tell it is a submerged tree with limbs. It changes my presentation. Also you can use it to see the white spots on there which are fish but I mainly use it to identify structure. The other main bonus is that you can use side scan to look off to either side rather than just the 8-9' diameter under your boat with a normal 20 degree cone angle 2D sonar. Maybe Brent will post a picture of fish suspended on a point. :-) I mainly fish structure except in winter. You will definitely like it. Good Fishing.

It will not take as long for it to be very useful, but learning it as good as some, not sure how long as I am still trying to learn it better each time. Still can't turn my screen shots into great shots showing fish that are more than a spot like some can when they use software that you can find other than the Mfg. Skip

Those screen shots are realy better than they show to be here. On the Lowrance or off of the down load to mmc card. I have a slow dial up and it takes for ever to do. Thanks for your kind words. Cought that bass and some crappie that is shown in photo 2.

Looks like in one of your pics that you found a boo ball as well I just get over the clarity and detail of these shots. Sure wish you would give up the cords on these as i still would like to see a comparison of these vs humminbird.
