i have a 1982 evinrude 140hp and its been awhile since ive changed the lower unit oil and plan on doing it pretty soon,i did it myself last time but cant exactly remember,was just wondering if any yall could help me out,appreciate it.

Get one of these and it will make it a lot easier

Lower Unit Pump

make sure you have the right fitting.

Draining lower unit
1. Remove bottom screw in lower unit
2. Remove top screw just above prop shaft. should be on same side. Will help drain faster
3. Tilt engine to where oil will drain out the most
4. If oil is milky white, you need to look into further
5. Level engine
6. Screw pump into lower unit screw hole and insert pump into oil container.
7. pump oil into lower unit unitl it comes out of top screw hole.
8. Replace screw into top hole securley.
9. Revew pump screw and screw in lower unit screw hole.

Now drink a six pack because you just saved yourself about $100. Time and money LOL
