I got my new 2011 BPS catalog and I noticed that there is no Wally Marshall in the catalog and everything that previously had his name has now been re-branded Crappie Maxx. Where did Wally go?

I hear that Wally and BPS have split the sheets......

BPS is dropping Wally Marshall and Bill Dance line of fishing equipment.

It was a press release from Wally about him and BPS parting ways. He will still have products, but not by BPS.

Brady, now there is an open door for ya right there. Good line of Crappie tackle you can sell. You probably can become a multi millionaire selling Wally Marshall stuff.

his stuff started showing up at other stores like dicks sporting goods last year.. 1st i saw of it elsewhere. i dont shop the other stores much..mainly academy and bps, but last spring i did see some of his stuff at dicks while buying my wife her 1st set of crappie gear....and none of was his by the way

Wally will be at the hunting and fishing show the first weekend in Jan. I am sure you can pick up all your Mr. Crappie needs there!!!

I was in BPS the other day and they know have Crappie thunder jigs packaged under the BPS name.

Hmmm? The only other reference I can find to Mr. Crappie is from Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Established 1996.

BassProShops and Wally Marshall definitely educated, enhanced and elevated crappie angling to another level. The marketplace desired more and new stuff, B.P.S. and Wally Marshall responded.

Whatever happens I will still think of Wally Marshall as Mr. Crappie. The man has earned my respect and he put himself out in the marketplace through the expenditure of his time, energy, effort and resources.

While on the topic, I'm thankful for all of the men and women of this forum who have educated, enhanced and elevated my love of crappie fishing. Trust me, it's a long list of people...
