You can catch them along the dam during the spring while they are spawning. In the fall, you can catch them in the cove on the north west side of the lake. Year round, you can find promising coves, bait them with milo or wheat and catch fish. I have seen folks with a mess of cats, but never caught that many myself. The difference is they have baited holes they are maintaining out there.
Note: You can not use trotlines, juglines, or throwlines on Bastrop.
