I have seen lots of posts regarding fly swaps on this site and others. How do these work? I have looked at several of the posts, and I get the idea that friends tie flies for each other. Other than that I am not sure of the particulars. Does everyone decide on a different pattern they will swap? How and where do you swap the flies?
I have been tying almost a year, and have even caught some fish on my creations. I feel like I might be missing out on some of the action/fun. I just want to be clear on the "rules" before I jump in. I don't want to make anyone angry, especially someone who is generous enough to share some flies with me.
Thanks!

The bottom line is that each member ties a fly or more for each of the other members. The rest is up to the person who dreams up the swap as far as what type of fly or flies, how many per person etc. Then anyone who is interested can join in until the set number of members is reached.
There are likely some far better descriptions if the term "fly swap" were to be Googled.

Thanks guys. I looked on google, but did not find a good clear answer. I will watch the board for a swap that I feel like I can make a decent contribution too. I like the poppers I tie, and the bass and bluegill like them too. Maybe that would be a good place to start.
