Have you checked out the brand new Enigma baitcaster? It just might be the very best $100 reel on the market. You gotta see it. I'm a BIG believer/user of their dual magnetic anti-backlash system, but with this reel, they've taken it to a new level (plus all the other features).
I'm not affiliated with BPS, I just happen to live close to one of their Outdoor World locations, AND I just received their new catalog.
Until a year ago, I had never bought a reel over $50, even though I've accumulated lots of gear (been fishing for many decades). Then, I bought a couple of Extreme (green) reels. I really liked them, but I could NOT adjust them for succesfull pitching. I talked to them, and they said, "Oh, you gotta have at least a Carbonlite". So, I bought a couple of them, and now can pitch pretty dern good.
Then, I bought a Johnny Morris Gold, and was totally impressed. NOW, I just gotta have this new Enigma.

Looks like a good little reel to me, I may have to go check one out.

I have two Johnny Morriss, one elite and one gold, as well as a pro qualifier and I really like them all.

Just wanted to post any parts needed for bps reels or you need to get one fixed you can send it to OUTDOOR WORLD ROD& REEL REPAIR 2300 E. Turner Suite M Springfield Mo 65803 or call Outdoor world at 1-417-873-5274 or fax them at 1-417 -873-5280 , parts are cheap even on the 2010 reels also one can buy whole side plates at real decent price . Now my older quantum reels i had to do away with as the antireverse bearing that sold only with the side plate was no longer offered. Which was ok the 6 20101 morris reels are just as good as the older ti and cx quantums i had ,, thanks o and p.s the gold one is now on sale for 50 bucks cheaper darn it

How does this anti back lash work? Does it work? Have you ever been under a tree and forgot and cast and hit that said tree and said bye bye to $20 line? I have and it sucks so that is why I am wondering if this really works.

I don't know of any anti backlash that will prevent an overrun when your cast gets stopped dead unexpectedly.

Backlash by crash? You have to learn to prevent those yourself.

How does it work? I only kinda know how, but I know it works very well for me. Keep in mind that I'm ONLY talking about getting very good at PITCHING (distance and accuracy). I know it might sound lame, but the only thing that allowed me to learn how to pitch at a level that was not embarrasing, is the BPS system of "dual magnetic centrifugal anti-backlash brake".

I have 3 Carbonlites but plan on buying the Enigma. I have several different types of reels including RevoSX but the Carbonlites keep ending up in my hand. So light and smooth, just wished the drag was a little stronger.
