Wanting to test some new colors out, and wanted to get a fair time to give the jigs justice before moving to the next one. So if you know the fish are there how long before the switch?

That's 5-10 minutes at different depths and then move on to a different color, if you know they are there.

I know a crappie ace that changes from white/chart to white/chart only when the other wears out.

When I am by myself, I generally don�t change my jig colors...I am very stubborn. I usually stick with my favorite colors combination for 4 hours, then change to another favorite colors combination for another 4 hours. That is it, unless I see someone start catching crappie with certain colors.

For me I do well on certain colors on certain lakes. So I will tie on the color that I know is good for a certain body of water and if I don't get bit within 15 minutes or so, I'll switch to whatever jig I have the most confidence in. Usually it has something with chartreuse in it. Or I'll switch to whatever jig my buddy is catching fish with if he is outfishing me.

And all this time I just thought it was great minds thinking alike! That Stucky sure is a sneaky feller...

Depends on how long it takes to get hung and lose the one I start with. Sometimes this is several trips. I usually start with whatever I finished with last time. Ocasionally if someone with me is out fishing me I might switch.

5 min or less, but I have 4 different rods rigged up with different colors to begin with.. and usually fish with at least 2 rods.
