It was on as soon as I got where I wanted to be this morning. But the wind kept getting stronger and stronger to the point it wasn't fun anymore. Had these 18 by 10:30 and had to git off the water. Couldn't even hold my pole still.

I don't know so much about that, but I'm working on being able to do it anywhere, any day. If I could just figure out the north wind. Struggle with that. Caught a few Saturday but had to fight a fierce north wind. Not much fun!!

Yesterday and Tues was some really good fishing!! Challenging in that the wind sure was a factor. Not that it was dangerous or rough. It just made it difficult to stay on 'em. The fish are moving alot right now, and you have to stay up with 'em. You can mark a spot for a reference, but you have to move around it in normal conditions. When the wind blows like it did yesterday, your marker moves alot more than you would think. You have to move alot more too. Then you have the 30 mph burst of wind that will knock a 10 ft rod 3 feet to one side or the other and quite often up or down. At that point it really is a struggle to see, or feel a bite. Time to go.

Your lake seems to have more protection than the ones I would use, Canyon and Boerne. Fishing with those winds and temperatures would be miserable as there would be whitecapping and 1'+ waves as a minimum. Holding position would be difficult and even your upper body would get wet from spray. I would have to go with the wind and do some drift fishing while staying close to shore and exit at some point downwind, then walk back. The only alternative would be sheltered coves, which are mostly hard to access with a tube.

So my hats off to you for your expertise and success in handling punishing conditions!

Good Catch! I was in my tube on Lewisville the same day caught 15 good ones. There is nothing like float tube crappie fishing, especially this time of year!
