Hey guys, going down Tuesday AM. Who's been? What time are they bitin? Which slips? What color? How deep? Details, details, DETAILS!! This is my one shot to fish La Mancha this season, probly, so as much info as possible would be helpful. But, yeah, I know, it's still FISHING, and who knows...

I've been a couple of times the last two weeks. The recent trend: Morning to noon good, afternoons VERY slow. But you can still get a good fish now and again during the afternoon. And you can get a surprise run at La Mancha at any given time. Second and third pairs of slips have been best, bites near bottom. I've had luck with a variety of colors, but start with white with pink or plain head. I haven't been there at daybreak yet, but I bet they are in shallower first pair of slips as well at that time.

Mo'Crappie and Proctor Pro, it was great to meet yall today. Tough day fishing, but me and my buddy managed enough for supper some time. Left there and went over to Ft Phantom nearer our neck of the woods, and pulled another three out including one thick 13-14"er.

All in all a fun day, not a catching day, but a fun day.

Mo', did they ever turn on that afternoon?

Yeah, late afternoon turned on for about an hour. La Mancha was tough yesterday. There were a couple of spells where out of at least twenty poles in the water with minnows and jigs, over an hour would pass without anyone getting a nibble, tap, bump. Drives me a little crazy when folks lay down a bunch of minnow rods in that second slip, and then walk away to fish other slips. I was the lucky slob yesterday who had a couple of jigs they seemed to like. I left with 16, took every minute of the whole day out there. They are on ice, have to go dump the cooler and crank up the knife! Good to meet yall, Brazos and Proctor-Pro.

AAAAHAHAHAA!! Yeah, we're having a little fry tomorrow for lunch, with the seven we managed yesterday and two bags of fish from this summer.

Yeah, Mo', I hear ya about crowding the "hot spots" with so many rods and then not even staying there to fish em.
Hope to see yall out there again sometime, won't be soon for me unfortunately, but good luck to yall out there!

I fished today from 6-9:30AM , caught 13 keepers my friend caught 6. I also saw couples of young fellows that fished with 9 minnow poles, i think they been comeing there on regular bases.

I would hit those stumps in the 15-25ft range, because i was catching them around that depth. Good-luck!, let us know how you did???. fish
