Anyone been fishing Calaveras lately?

Any kitties, redfish, or striper action?

Just curious...

Thanks
shawn

Hey Shawn...where have you been? I haven't fished Calaveras since Nov. The water was cooling off, cats had disappeared from my honey holes and nothin was biting. Haven't been back since. I've been watching TFF (forum) and the weather...got a bad case of needing to hit Calaveras again. Wish someone would report that they were jumping in the boat. Maybe I'll pull out the ol Skeeter this week, if the weather will behave. Really don't have a game plan...maybe catch a few shad and try your 2nd cove or up by the cable. If you go, post your results..good or bad. Good luck fishing !
Roger

Have not been to Calaveras in quite a while. Plan on going when it warms up. I switch to hunting in the wintertime, and I have a hard time doing both, but I will be deep water spoon jigging for bass in a week or so.

This is a transition period for me. The deer season is winding down, and I'm getting all my fishing gear cleaned up and motor tuned and soon as the holidays are over and a nice day (one that isn't storming) I'll be out looking for those white bass, and whatever else will bite.

Thanks Chascat, and Merry Christmas to all! I've been around just more or less lurking since I've been hunting and visiting the THF, and even there I haven't been posting much. Hard to believe I didn't have much to say. LOL
I'll be giving my fishing reels a workout after the holidays so hope to bump into you guys at the lakes and rivers. It should be a great year with all the lakes full and hopefully the rains will hold off for now. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all!

Merry Christmas to all you rednecks! smile

I will start getting prepped for fishing mid January. That's when I start fishing for big bass at night. I would like to chase some big blues while it's cold, but I have an affinity to warmer weather. I can handle some of the nights though, because the wind dies down and I just have to layer my clothes.

I plan on fly fishing Bend for whites this year, from a float tube.
