Darn nice cats. Will be there on weekend of ofJune 2 &3. Planned on fishing the flats at dam,timber across from Limestone maina and the channel under the causway. Any suggestions would be used.

trotlines baited with perch.
These two were caught on consecutive hooks. We have also caught two 20's and three or four fiftens.
Still trying to get the really big one.

your plan sounds good.
If you are going to fish jugs the humps around the dam should be good about then.

Nice fish!We are going up this weekend to mow the lake lot, set jug lines & fish off the boat dock.After seeing your catch I've really got the bug.Congrats again.

so, let me ask a dumb question. i have never caught any catfish that size. the 7-10lbs i have caught, i have always put back in the lake. are they good to eat when they are that large?
i catch a fair amount in the 2-4lb range and enjoy eating those, either blues or channels.

yellow catfish meat is to blue and channel meat as steak is to hamburger.
Yellow cat meat is white sweet and delicious. It is as good or better to my taste as crappie.
Having said that there are some people that have it in their head that yellow cat is not good eating, my Principal for example believes that yellow cats and mudcats are the same thing and will not eat them.
Fine, leaves more for me.
